Children's Book Drives
Jan. 21 (vs. ANA) & 23 (vs. BUF)

The Sharks Foundation will host the annual Children's Book Drives at their home games on Jan. 21 (vs. ANA) and 23 (vs. BUF) to support their literacy program Reading Is Cool. Sharks fans can assist by donating new and gently used children's book as they enter the HP Pavilion at San Jose. Monetary donations are also appreciated.

All donors will receive a raffle ticket for a drawing to be held that night, with prizes including autographed Sharks items. Raffle winners will be announced on the Video Board during the first period and fans must claim their prize at the Sharks Foundation booth (located outside Section 124) before the end of the second intermission.

All donated books will be distributed to local public schools who earn S.J. Sharkie visits as part of the Reading Is Cool program. Reading Is Cool is a free and unique literacy program open to public K-6 grade classrooms in Santa Clara County and southern Alameda County (Fremont, Newark and Union City). It promotes the importance of reading while sharing the excitement and enjoyment of a good book. Through a multifaceted approach that includes exclusive experiences and incentives, students are encouraged to succeed as individual readers and as a classroom team.
