Thank You Sharks Fans!!This season, the Sharks Foundation hosted its annual Share The Warmth Drive at home games on Jan. 5 (vs. Columbus) and 7 (vs. Washington) in order to support Sacred Heart Community Services (SHCS). Sharks fans showed the community once again how dedicated they are by bringing hundreds of coats and blankets and donating over $5,000 to benefit Sacred Heart Community Services. Thank you very much for supporting our community and the Sharks Foundation!
About Sacred Heart Community Services
SHCS was founded in 1964 and its mission is to work towards a community united to ensure that every child and adult is free from poverty. Over 1,500 customers walk through their doors daily to access a wide range of services. The programs, from basic needs to education, are offered comprehensively under one roof and are free of charge to the customers.
Items donated during the drives will be distributed via the Clothes Closet. Over 300 families a day come through the Clothes Closet to find clothing for their family, a suit for an interview, a blanket during the cold winter, or a pair of shoes for work. All of the clothing, bedding, and linens are donated through the generosity of individual donors and over 35 schools, churches, and agencies a year.
