Part of downtown San Joses newly opened Guadalupe River Park and Gardens, the Childrens Carousel at the Arena Green is a hidden treasure sometimes lost in the vastness of HP Pavilion. With green lawns, a playground for kids and a working carousel featuring 33 fiberglass animals-such as a salmon, a coyote, a hummingbird and sharks (in honor of the NHL team)-the Childrens Carousel, located across the street from the arena at Autumn and Santa Clara Streets, is an excellent place to bring the family before Sharks games, during the week or on weekends.

In addition to the Childrens Carousel, San Joses $99 million Guadalupe River Park and Gardens project features hiking and bike trails, gardens, fountains, picnic areas and public art along the 2.6-mile path. The park extends from I-880 near Mineta San Jose International Airport past HP Pavilion and the Childrens Carousel and ends near the Childrens Discovery Museum.

Built with help from The Sharks Foundation, San Jose Redevelopment Agency and the City of San Jose, the Childrens Carousel is open throughout the year, with all proceeds from the $1 rides benefiting The Sharks Foundation.

The Sharks Foundation is the charity arm of the San Jose Sharks, dedicated to meeting the educational, social and cultural needs of our community, with special emphasis on youth in our area.

*The Childrens Carousel will operate during these hours, weather permitting and Monday holidays. Children (12 & under) ride free on the second Tuesday of each month.
