Sharks Become Irish for a Day With St. Patrick's Day Jersey Auction
March 9, 2010
Think you know every player on the Sharks? What about McMarleau, MacThornton and O'Nabokov? For two nights this month every player will be Irish when the Sharks Foundation holds a St. Patrick's Day Jersey Sale during the games on March 11 (vs. NSH) and 13 (vs. FLA).
Nearly every member of the current San Jose Sharks roster has an autographed jersey for sale, which they wore during the morning skate session at HP Pavilion prior to the home game on March 6 (vs. CLB). The back of the limited-edition white jerseys feature a green shamrock on each players' number, which is in gold, with their name in green and black. What makes them even more unique is that each name has been altered with the addition of an "O'," a "Mc" or a "Mac." These jerseys are a one-time only run, never to be produced again.
Half of the jerseys will be sold each night. The current lineup of jerseys, although subject to change, is:
March 11 (vs. NSH)
McGreiss
McBlake
O'Pavelski
McMarleau
O'Setoguchi
MacMitchell
McClowe
MacHuskins
McOrtmeyer
MacVlasic
March 13 (vs. FLA)

O'Heatley
MacThornton
O'Nabokov
MacNichol
O'Boyle

The jerseys will be sold via blind bid auction format. In the blind bid format, fans indicate the highest price they are willing to pay for an individual jersey on a form and drop the form in to the box that corresponds to their desired jersey. As with a normal auction, the item goes to the highest bidder. Items are only available at the game and bids cannot be made via proxy over email or phone.

Net proceeds from this event will benefit the Sharks Foundation's 2009-10 Grant Recipients, as well as a wide variety of programs and services.
