Auction and Hat Sales to Benefit Charity of Former Shark Curtis Brown
March 3, 2010

On Thursday, Mar. 4, the Sharks Foundation will hold a special auction during the Sharks game vs. Montreal Canadiens with proceeds benefiting the Aubri Brown Club (ABC). The ABC, a non-profit organization established by former Shark Curtis Brown, aims to help families who have lost a child to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and support them on the difficult road to recovery.

In 2005, Curtis and his wife Ami tragically lost their four-month-old daughter, Aubri, to SIDS and since then, have dedicated their efforts to helping families going through the same ordeal. Brown, who played for the Sharks from 2006-08 and currently plays in Switzerland, started the ABC as a vehicle to help others dealing with the loss of a child.

Items for auction include (subject to change):
Signed and framed Joe Thornton road jersey
Premier Jersey signed by members of the 2009-10 team
Dany Heatley signed and framed ""Hat Trick"" photo and pucks
Signed Warrior stick by Captain Rob Blake
Used Reebok gloves signed by Patrick Marleau

In addition, the Sharks Foundation will be selling a limited number of signed Aubri Brown hats for $30 and unsigned Aubri Brown hats for $10.

Proceeds raised during the auction will directly benefit the ABC and go towards helping others with medical bills, funeral costs and family counseling. If you are unable to attend the game on Mar. 4 and would like more information, please visit www.theAubriBrownClub.org.

STANDARD AUCTION RULES
The fundraiser will begin as a Silent Auction and end (if necessary) as a Live Auction. In order to bid on an item, fans sign their name and bid amount on an item's corresponding Bid Sheet.  With ten (10) minutes left in the SECOND INTERMISSION, the auction will begin to close. Each item will be closed out individually, beginning with the item that has the lowest bid at that moment and moving up. A Sharks Foundation Staff Member will give an audible "Going once . . . going twice . . . SOLD!" to indicate the closing of each item. If two or more fans are trying to outbid each other at this time, the Foundation Staff Member will use audible Live Auction style bidding until a clear winner is established.
